Major League Baseball 2K10

Story

As with most sports game there isn’t a storyline, however this game offers two versions of ‘Home Run Derby’ (Home Run Derby Career and the standard one-off event) and ‘GM Career’. In the end Home Run Derby of any kind is boring, whether you're selecting a group of three players to switch between or playing as one. Thankfully GM Career works out a bit better and it also comes in two versions (The Farm where you play in the minor leagues and Manager Showdown where all the matches are simulated). You play the role of a new general manager who has his pick of which team to oversee. Pick your team and then complete different goals set by your manager. If you complete goals, you'll be given more money to play around with over the course of a 162 game season.

Graphics (4/10)

Even considering that it is on a handheld device, the animations don’t work all that well and player details aren’t very distinctive on the low-resolution models. It should also be noted that it makes an honest attempt at delivering the finer points of the sport, but the lack of technical proficiency on the hardware side holds it back. This causes players to slide along the field during animations rather than being able to have each foot stick to the turf properly. Even small elements like having a smooth swing animation are too much for the PSP to deliver.

Game play (4/10)

In this case it is the lack of speed provided by the UMD hardware that lets it down as there is a lag between pressing ‘X’ to skip the cut scene. This can be very annoying and it put me off playing the game. It was also a bad idea to default the ‘X’ button to the dive function. What that translates to is a centre fielder who, instead of loading a throw home, dives face first into the ground, missing the fly ball.

Sound (2/10)

The commentary sounds fine, but the comments are incredibly delayed thanks to the lack of UMD speed and there is a serious lack of atmosphere as the crowd needs to sound more alive.

Replay Value (2/10)

There is a wide range of game modes available however the main attraction of a game has to be it’s game play and this game is seriously lacking in that department. It is something I will not want to play for the foreseeable future!

Overall Comment

There’s promise and some fun to be had when you can overcome the various frustrations that the system and the controls present. A more arcade-style of baseball would fit better. If you are a fan of baseball in real life or even the virtual world, this is one thing you would want to AVOID - if you have an alternative to a handheld console!

Video Game In China

Video Game In China

Somebody gonna ask: What is video game? Here is the answer, A video game is an electronic game that involves interaction with a user interface to generate visual feedback on a video device. Yes , this must be includes PC games, PS2, PS3,Xbox,Wii and so forth.

Generally, Video game are the faves of the young people. Young people could relax themselves from it. On the other hand. Old people are busy or have no time to play it.This phenomenon are also familiar in China. The people who want to play Video Games are almost young people.

In China. Many people would like to play video games because they want to be the men in the video game. At the same time, we got some problem. Young people are addicted in the video games, even give up studing in order to play video game.

Also, many Chinese video games are violent.Much more sanguinary than the game in the western countries.Young people are not self-controlled and they are tend to imitate the action in the game. Something like shooting, jump out of the building. Some of the games need money to carry on. And young guys have no money. They are confounded to commit crime in order to get money playing in the video game, eg, robbing.

The picture upper are the Internet Bar in China. Althrough Chinese government prohibit the people who under 18 years old go to internet bar. But many of the boss allow the people who under 18 years old go to their bar. This should be penaltied because this is illegal. Another reason why young children want to go their is children in their home do not have Video Games. Some families who have video games do not allow children to play it because of the pressure of the education.

In order to solve that problem. The government should admit it strictly. For the Internet Bar, the boss should not allowed the people who under 18 years old go to this bar. For the game, some bloody games should not be released. And young children should emphasis on the studying and know more knowledge of Law.Sometimes, in order to relax, they could play video games ,because it is a way of relaxing.

NBA 2K10 ( The best basketball game i saw )

NBA 2K10( The best basketball game i saw)

NBA 2K10 is a basketball video game Based on the NBA developed by visual concepts and published by 2K sports.

This game is released on the Wii and PSP firstly. And later. We will get the version of XBox, PS3 and PC. For this release, NBA 2K 10 is the Anniversary version that to celebrate the 10 years of NBA 2K franchise. Which is just limited to 30,000 copies.

I bought this game when it was released in Australia several mouths ago. I was pretty excited because it was released earlier than Europe but later than USA. Anyway, i was excited.

For this game. I think it is fantastic. There are many features for this version of game. eg. NBA today, my player mode, signature play, intense defence, improved create-A-player mode and Save & Quit current game and so forth. Another interesting thing is the soundtrack also includes
an original song from "Grammy" nominated artist. The game titled "Chamption".

For this version. 2K sports invite Kobe Bryant, who is the best NBA player playing in the Los angles Lakers to promote NBA 2K10. The image before is Kobe Bryant in the game which is clear enough.

The most importnant why i love this game is the features of "my player mode". players can create their own basketball player and guide him through his career. Starting as a drafted or undrafted rookie in the summer circuit. players has to work their way up into an NBA teams training camp. Surprisely, we saw the image before, we can create our own player like ourself. We can choose the head, mouth, ears, notes like us. This feature promote me to play it.

I Love NBA 2K10

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords (KOTOR 2)

Graphics (7/10)

The graphics are recycled from the first game, with some objects being smoother then before. It seems a little outdated for 2005. A lot of people complain about the smoke in areas slowing down the frame rate, but this doesn’t seem to occur in my game.

Image comes from IGN.com

Story (8/10)

The story revolves around a Jedi Exile that followed Darth Revan to fight in the Mandalorian Wars. The Exile lost connection of the force, and disappeared until the beginning of the game. The focus of the game is to search for the remaining Jedi Council members and either eliminate them, or forge an alliance against the returning Sith. The canon story is the Exile is a human female, and she follows the light side story. Due to the game being rushed, a lot of planned events never occur, although some are hinted at.

Gameplay (8/10)

The gameplay is the same as in KOTOR. The fights are turned based, but do not seem that way, by how it all flows together. As fun as KOTOR 2 is, it has some flaws that ruin parts of the game. Number one is that at times, the NPCs dialogue is skipped, so making decisions is harder, as you have know idea what the NPC said. Number two is no matter how I customise my Exile, they can never hit the enemy towards the beginning of the game. An improvements over the first game is that there’s a higher level cap, so more force powers are available, and you can use them more often. A new feature is companions alignment, so how the companion reacts to the Exile changes throughout the game.

Sound (9/10)

The music is pretty good, with action music during battles, and more relaxed music during exploration. The voice acting is also good.

Replay Value (9/10)

There are a lot of side quests to complete, with some only being available depending on the alignment of your character. There are also numerous endings, and the companions have the ability to become Jedi if there approval is high enough.

Overall

While some people say the first game is better, I believe KOTOR 2 is better. The only real problem I have with it is the skipping of dialogue, and the cut content, but despite this, I would recommend buying this game. Unlike other Star Wars games, the plot is not as predictable, due to no conflict with the Separatists/Galactic Empire, and it shows off some aspects of Star Wars not seen anywhere else.

Football Manager 2010

Story

The aim of this PC based game is to coach a football (soccer) team and to lead them to glory. You will face many challenges and receive tips and notices via mail within the game. There is a wide range of players, staff and teams in this edition therefore there is a greater scope to form your own football story or even an entire career!

Graphics (5/10)

The graphics within the game have improved drastically since the creation of the 2009 version where a new three dimensional match engine was created to maximise the gaming experience. However even though this game continues with 3D visuals, it isn’t designed for interactive ‘play’ but rather interactive management; therefore it isn’t easy to look at on the eye.

The new tactics and touchline options add an extra dimension to the overall gameplay (image from gamespot.com)

Game play (7/10)

One word to describe the overall game play is “Great”. This is because I wasn’t at all disappointed by the fact that there was an option to change tactics from the touchline and to have trial matches as a tutorial as you get used to the new features of the game. In addition your assistant manager helps via useful pop-ups to guide you through the nuances of player interaction, and can even pick your team and set the formation for you if you're feeling a little lost. In order to find out more about overall game play I strongly suggest this blog at
http://footballmenagerblog.blogspot.com/

The overview screen is a welcome addition (image from gamespot.com)

Sound (3/10)

The audio available in this game is very limited and the soundtrack is deplorable as it only contains synthetic sounds created by the game developers. It is very unlike other sporting games where you can ‘feel’ the atmosphere of a sporting arena via sound. This game is not designed to entice those who want the entire sporting experience when it comes to sound. However it does make an honest attempt when you visualise the simulated action, hence a mark that is more than 1/10.

Replay Value (7/10)

Personally I have always been a fan of ‘Football Manager’ even in the old days when it was a joint venture with ‘Championship Manager’ and I and many other people will agree that this game focuses on the day to day challenges of football management. It is for this reason that the replay value will be acceptable, but only until there is a significant improvement in a future edition.

Overall Comment

This game is for anyone who is interested in the meticulous details that are needed to coach a football team. If you think you are management savvy I strongly suggest…THIS IS THE GAME FOR YOU!

FIFA 10 Review

Story

There is no distinct storyline to this sports game, however the closest you can get to a storyline is if you participate in the ‘Be a Pro’(having control of only one player in a match),’Virtual Pro’ or ‘Manager’(managing a team for up to 15 seasons) modes. There are also the standard challenges that you must complete in ‘Kick-off’ mode in addition to the challenges offered in the new ‘Virtual Pro Mode’. In fact it’s the ‘Virtual Pro’ mode that has set this version of the game apart from it’s predecessors, as this mode allows you to create a player (like ‘Be a Pro mode’) that is not only restricted to one mode of play. In fact they will also be available for use in the ‘Kick-off’ (exhibition) ‘Be a Pro’ and ‘Manager’ modes as you develop your player throughout their career and unlike ‘Be a Pro’ mode you can control all members of the team including your created player.

Graphics (8/10)

This was the first FIFA game that was exclusive to the new generation consoles, therefore it contains graphics of a high quality, and thus they are compatible for high definition televisions. As with all other FIFA games the facial likeliness of players depends on their stature within the world game, players such as Wayne Rooney and Lionel Messi will look like themselves but players such as Jonjo Shelvey have generic faces (there are about 5-10 versions used for various players). Furthermore the ‘on field’ graphics look more real than they ever have before, if you choose the settings for various times of the day the lighting (from the sun) and shadows are distinct and it is as though you are watching a live broadcast.

Game play (8/10)

The overall movement and manoeuvring of players is the best yet allowing you to switch from weak foot to strong foot and allowing rotation in more than 8 compass directions. There is extensive opportunity to develop your game play through practice mode where you can create your own set pieces and develop the attributes of your created player. There is also more opportunity to use various skill sets whilst dribbling as well as upgrades in the A.I (artificial intelligence)of players in the game.

Sound (10/10)

As with all FIFA games available on the latest consoles, the sound is of a very good quality as sometimes you feel that you are really within the walls of the stadium, and the soundtrack contains some of the very latest music that will enhance the game play experience.

Replay Value (9/10)

The replay value of this game is relatively high because as with other FIFA games I will keep playing this game until the next one comes out and even then I may be inclined to come back to FIFA 10 in order to complete the multitude of challenges on offer!

Overall comment
This game is a must have for any genuine football fan as it will not leave you disappointed due to the realism of its visual features and the flexibility offered in Virtual Pro mode. If you are intent on owning this game, JUST GET IT! Because it’s worth it!

Design of current blog

This blog is still in its developmental stages at the time of writing and even though there are only three posts there have been changes to the blog. At the current time the blog layout has been developed into a page that has rounded side bars that separate the posts from the gadgets and the header. The colours for the heading and description are light blue so that they can be distinctive from the image behind them. Previously these were red and the layout of the page was without rounders but had a single divergent line that separated the posts from the header. Now the header has an image that is large in order to capture the viewers’ attention and it features characters from a wide range of video games and consoles to promote the diversity of the following game reviews. Previously the colours of the background and sidebar links were leaf green which made colours clash and the text of the posts were black and the posts and sidebar had the same white background. However, currently The right side bar has a dark blue background that is used to accentuate the options in the poll that are in an aqua colour and just above the side bar there is a blog roll with a leaf green background that highlights it from the opaque green background of the blog, furthermore the posts are encased in a blue/green background and have aqua coloured text with white headings and green date stamps.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Graphics (8/10)

The graphics are some of the best the Wii has to offer. And before someone complains everyone says this, look at most Wii games. They are pathetic ports of PS2 games. The Wii has proved it is better then the PS2, and this is one game that shows just that.

Image comes from gamefaqs.com

Story (3/10)

The only problem with Brawl. Well, that would be the story. Number one, the other Super Smash Bros. games didn’t have a story mode, so why did Brawl. So people would play the game for a longer amount of time. To me, if they want a story to the series, they should make something like Super Smash Bros. RPG. The story mode, called the Subspace Emissary, is based on stopping some bad guys from turning characters into trophies. The bad guys are betrayed, so everyone teams up to beat the new bad guy, a ridiculously hard boss. It’s way more fun to unlock the characters by playing X amounts of VS matches.

Gameplay (8/10)

Brawl’s gameplay has been modified since Melee, to make the game easier. Many people complain that wave dashing, and L-cancelling have been removed and that this game is focused on the casual market, like a lot of Nintendo’s games are lately. To me, I really don’t care about these things, as I never knew how to use them. So to me, the gameplay is very similar to Melee, except for the new feature that makes some characters sluggish. This really bugs me, as it makes me prefer Melee over Brawl sometimes. There’s a lot of features added to Brawl, like the vault, which is like the Xbox 360s achievement list and PS3’s trophy list, new items such as assist trophies (like poke balls, they spawn random characters) and smash balls (allows the character to use a very powerful attack that is basically a one-hit KO), customisable fights (like making all characters small, metal, and having hp instead of a percentage meter), level editor, and much more. A new feature are stickers, which can power up the character that they are placed on. Sadly, they can only be used in the Subspace Emissary.

Sound (9/10)

The music from this game is all the best music from each game series represented in Brawl, with new music specifically for the game. It has a better selection of music then Melee, with the ability to unlock music by finding CDs randomly while playing.

Replay Value (10/10)

It’s a fighting game. It’s designed for multiplayer. Basically there is nothing else to add. Its just one of those games people play with other people. If you restart this game, you have to be really bored. In order to collect everything, I have no idea how long it takes. In terms of single player, you probably wouldn’t play this game much on your own after you beat the story mode and unlock all the characters.

Overall
If you wanted a good game for the Wii, you probably already own this. If not, then buy it. Use this site for help, or want to know more about the game. One last thing I’ll add, Captain Falcon’s final smash should’ve been this.
